Job Title : Package Unit Engineer (DM units, Condensate polishers, Waste water treatment units, Zero liquid discharge units)

Role Definition :

Package unit responsible engineer - DM units, Condensate polishers, Waste water treatment units, Zero liquid discharge units

Key Role & Responsibility : Preparation of mechanical data sheets, equipment and package unit specifications, definition of scope of engineering and deliveryPreparation of technical inquiries, conduct technical clarification meetings, evaluation and technical recommendation of Supplier bids and vendor negotiationsConduct kick-off meeting with the supplier and ensure participation of involved disciplines as applicable.Vendor drawings and documents review and managing timely completion of vendor documentation, with support of expediting / Lead Engineer.Support to Lead Engineer in day-to-day technical workCo-ordination and execution of orders with Suppliers for package unitsCo-ordination with other disciplines (mainly: Project execution, instrumentation, electrical, piping, steel structure and civil, erection, safety, documentation, logistic, procurement, etc.) and Engineering partnersExecute pre-inspection meeting and functional inspection with Suppliers to ensure required quality and delivery timeIssue of Inspection Release Note (IRN) and ensuring list of carry over work to be executed at site. Perform technical release of the Supplier invoices including penalty evaluation.Site support during package unit installation and commissioning, on need basis.Implementation of lessons learnt from previous projects
Additional Responsibility : Mandatory: MS-Office-Programs Advantageous: AutoCAD, Microprotol (Equipment Design Program) Project Planning (MS-Project / Primavera)
Education qualification & Experience : B.E (Mechanical)
Technical Knowledge :
  • Experience in handling of following package units:
  • Demineralisation units (Ion exchange & Membrane)
  • Condensate polishing units
  • Waste water treatment units
  • Zero liquid discharge units
  • Experience in Project execution of design, detailed engineering and procurement of package units, including handling of Bid proposals.; experience in FEED is preferred.
  • Project co-ordination for the Package Units in the sense of "Complete Responsibility for Package Unit"
  •  Experience in interface with various engineering disciplines (process, instrumentation, electrical, piping, steel structure and civil, safety, etc.)
  • Co-ordination and technical clarifications with Suppliers for complete package unit with support from other disciplines
  • Responsibility of Technical requirements, Cost control and Delivery Schedule for package units.
  • Execution of technical inspections and Functional tests in Manufacturer workshops; Site experience is preferred.
  • Experience in developing package unit enquiry and order specification for procurement of package units 
  • Knowledge of Process, Control and Safety aspects of the package units is preferred.
  • Expected Code and standards knowledge: ASME, API, ISO, EN / PED, ASTM, Environmental norms like CPCB / MoEF / equivalent international norms
