Preferred candidates shall have:
a. Good Leadership traits and communication skills in English language.
b. Indepth knowledge of all interdisciplinary engineering activities including workflow, critical milestones and critical input and output documents and drawings.
c. Leading experience in the execution of large size projects wherein piping man-hours are in the range of 80000 and above and team size is about 25 and more.
d. Hands on experience in making design concepts of critical lines (preferably in PDS / SP 3D system) with minimum input in the early stage of the project and make suitable assumption so that design concepts developed at this stage hold good even in detail engineering phase.
e. Through understanding of behaviour of piping systems during thermal expansion and should be able to guide team for making flexible routing and support selection in the conceptual phase of the project.
f. Ability to execute projects in tight budget and schedule with team comprising of varying experience level and age group. Should have ability to motivate and train the team members in difficult and challenging situation.
g. Ability to operate PDS / SP 3D system in full range and understanding of the workflow of the PDS / SP 3D system is desirable.
h. Professional know-how in operating design review/Smart plant review or Navis works softwares
j. Readiness to travel for short term/long term assignments to Linde's various offices or sites.

|Targeted Industries||:||Candidates from EPC consultancy organizations dealing with chemical plants will only be considered suitable for this position. Pharmaceutical, sugar plants & exclusive experience of power plant related piping design shall not be considered. Candidates having experience in design department of construction contractor or plant owners shall not be considered as suitable for this position.|
|Key Role & Responsibility||:||
Lead Engineer is mainly responsible for following:
a. To control engineering quality, ensure the progress & schedule in large scale project (Piping man-hours in the range of 100000). He/She has to analyze the design changes and communicate the impact of these changes with respect to budget and schedule.
b. Has to ensure smooth interface and work very closely in task force environment with all the related engineering & construction disciplines. For global work share execution, many a times few of these disciplines could be in other design offices of Linde world wide.
c. Is required to prepare all the project specific work instructions to maintain the uniformity in design concepts and establish internal communication methodology within the team. Team size could be between 10 to 50 members comprising of designers and engineers.
d. In the conceptual phase of the project, he would require to prepare the professional and economical plant layout and piping design concept by himself using state of the art 3D-CAD programs (PDS / SP 3D system). Is also responsible to prepare the requirement of PDS / SP 3D design file organization (Design area & model requirements in PDS/SP 3D).
e. Has to initiate and execute design review meetings (model review) with domestic as well as international clients & PMC. During these meetings, he has to present and explain the design solutions to Client/PMC without much involvement of other Team members. He/She has to understand, analyze and negotiate the additional client requirement coming out during such meetings and make suitable action plan in consultation with project management.
f. Responsibility also includes preparing & optimizing primary steel & supplementary steel requirements for pipe racks, technological structures, pipe supports, operating platforms, field columns etc. Has to coordinate and guide the team to ensure realistic loading information exchange with civil & structural group. Must be able to take challenges of early input requirement of such loads due to piling schedule and make realistic assumption to guide the team.
Has to communicate all unresolved problems or deviation from standard practice to project manager and department manager.
g. To ensure adherence to company quality system during project execution.
h. Release and approval of engineering drawings and documents for fabrication.

|Experience Bracket||:||More than 15 years of experience in Piping design field for chemical plants (with min. 2 projects as a lead engineer). Experience of maintenance, operation, construction shall not to be counted. Experience of piping fabrication, testing and erection shall not be considered.|
