Job Title / Position : Lead Engineer - Electrical Engineering
Department : Electrical Engineering
Description : Lead engineer - Electrical Engineering shall provide functional and technical leadership to the team
Educational Qualifications : B.E. / B.Tech.
Technical / Subject Knowledge :
  • Power system design from concept to detail engineering
  • Perform all equipment sizing calculations
  • Electrical system earthing / lightning, power and lighting system - concept to detail engineering
  • Knowledge of Indian and International codes and standards, IS, IEC,NEC, NFPA, IEEE, API
  • Well conversant with the latest in CAD / CAE workflows
  • Working knowledge of cost estimation
  • Working knowledge of Telecom equipment, CP system, Electrical Heat tracing system
Skill Sets :

Thorough Knowledge of :

• Power system conceptual studies and design calculations
• Single Line Diagrams, Control Schematics
• National & International Codes & Standards
• Equipment sizing calculations, specifications, datasheets of electrical equipment
• Procurement related engineering activities - Bid Analysis, Vendor print review
• Factory & Site Acceptance Test procedures (FAT/SAT)
• Development of various Layouts & MTO
• Construction supervision & Commissioning
• Interface with other disciplines
• Various Phases of project and Coordination
• Estimation - Man hours & Hardware Cost
• Suppliers in the Indian and global market

Software Tools & Technology : • ETAP • Design Review Tool (SPR or equivalent) • Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL)
Targeted Industries : Oil/Gas, Petrochemical
Key Role & Responsibility :

The Lead Engineer shall be responsible for the following:

• Analyse contract and examine relevant scope of work and interfaces, analyse risks, opportunities

• Cost estimation and electrical engineering concept for proposals
• Development of cost effective, quality and HSE related concepts and solutions
• Review & approve project related documents
• Manpower and resource planning including task assignment to project team members
• Regular monitoring of quality, HSE, schedule, quantity and cost aspects of project
• Conduct technical meetings with the department for know-how backflow and lessons learnt

Experience as Team Leader – at least 1 project completed as Lead. Team size 15 to 20+ Engineers & Designers
