Job Title / Position : SmartPlant P&ID (SPP&ID) Administrator
Department : Engineering Application Management
Description : The SPP&ID Administrator is the SPP&ID product owner for a project, and is responsible for overall SPP&ID system setup, configuration, and day to day operation. Strong fundamental knowledge of piping and instrumentation diagramsDemonstrate repeatability and constant improvement in projectsA wide degree of creativity and latitude is expectedCan work in a team environment and handle multiple project responsibilitiesSupport integration with another smart suit products SPF, SPI, SPEL, S3D, etc.To recognize team performance as a whole is a greater priority than projecting individual contributionExperience of working in Oil & Gas facilities, preferably with reputed international EPC contractors 
Educational Qualifications : Degree in Engineering / IT / Computer
Technical / Subject Knowledge :

Essential functions as SPP&ID Administrator:

  • Setup, configure and technical support of SPP&ID projects
  • Customize symbols, reports, filters to project requirements
  • Good knowledge and concept drafting standard used in engineering industry
  • Extensive experience in engineering and design systems, particularly the Intergraph suite of tools
  • A detailed knowledge of SPP&ID Table structures
  • Knowledge and experience of RDBMS like Oracle / MS SQL, SQL queries
  • Preferable to have Knowledge of any programming language likes .Net, C#, VB6, C++, etc.
Software Tools & Technology : Intergraph SmartPlant P&ID Smartsketch Bentley’s Microstation Autodesk’s AutoCAD MS SQL Server / Oracle MS Office Applications (MS Access, Excel, Word, Power point, Visio) Windows operating system
Key Role & Responsibility :


  • Setup/customize SPP&ID local/global projects as per client/project requirements
  • SPP&ID Administration including creating symbology, filters, reports, system
  • maintenance, etc., Produce setup documentation detailing the SPPID setup
  • Maintain the SPP&ID reference database for projects including transfers, data extraction reports, MTO downloads, data integrity, etc. including the customization of reports as per project requirements
  • Understand and configure client class library requirements in SPP&ID
  • Interface with P&ID designer leads, discipline leads, projects managers on projects customisation requirement
  • Support and liaise with other key groups - such as the engineering functions, IT, digitalization as required
  • Set up for publishing to SmartPlant Foundation
  • Audit SPP&ID projects to ensure projects integrity and proper system operation all along the project life
  • Support users during P&ID draft
  • Test/deploy new features to SPPID required for projects, as well as for new release of tools
  • Develop detailed project work instructions and Quality Check instructions for users; Ensure instructions are followed
  • Providing formal and on job training to users
  • Automate variety of routine tasks with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Input into development, and implementation of new procedures, guidelines and workflows, tools, data management solutions as required
  • Handover of SPP&ID Project
  • Actively supports Lessons Learned feedback
  • Communication with customer, vendors, PMC, etc. as per requirement

  • Experience in communicating with a variety of customers at different levels

  • Effective organization and time management skills 
  • Work effectively with diverse multi-cultural team peer stakeholders and customers
