Job Title / Position : SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) Administrator
Department : Engineering Application Management
Description : The SPI Administrator is the SPI product owner for a project and responsible for overall SPI system setup, configuration and user support & Training:Familiar with a variety of inter disciplines concepts practices & proceduresDemonstrate consistency in performance & constant improvement in projectsA wide degree of creativity, latitude & responsibility is expectedCan work in a team environment & handle multiple project simultaneouslySupport integration with other smart suit products SPF, SP P&ID, SPEL, S3D, etc.To recognize team performance as whole is a greater priority than projecting individual contribution.Experience of working in Oil & Gas facilities, preferably with reputed international EPC contractors 
Educational Qualifications : Degree in Engineering / IT / Computer
Technical / Subject Knowledge :

Essential Activities as SPI Administrator:

  • Implementation & setup of new projects in SPI & take backup of current Projects
  • Configure Project, Users & Groups, Plant hierarchy, Project Naming Conventions
  • Template & Symbol Development, Drawing & Report layout preparation
  • Report Development including customized reports based on team/client req.
  • Ensuring that all projects are configured per project standards & requirements
  • General drafting abilities of Smart Sketch & Specification reports
  • Knowledge of all types of deliverables issued from discipline or applications
  • Successful creation/extraction of reports out of SPI & related applications (For documents like Instrument Index, Specification sheet, Wiring, Hook-up etc.)
  • Project (SPI) domain administration, trouble shooting, user support & training
  • Execute / resolves database Audits & Improve team cognizance on audit report
  • Detailed knowledge of SPI, Enhanced Report, External Editor, Process Data Editor, Internal Set-up Utility, DB check Utility, Import utility, Rule Manager.
  • Maintain consistency within/among various applications (Rev. Management)
  • Knowledge of SPI Table structures is preferable
  • Basic knowledge of RDBMS like Oracle / MS SQL, SQL queries
  • Preferable to have Knowledge of any programming language likes .Net, C#, VB6, C++, etc.
Software Tools & Technology : Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation SmartSketch InfoMaker Bentley’s Microstation Autodesk’s AutoCAD MS SQL Server / Oracle MS Office Applications (MS Access, Excel, Word, Power point, Visio) Windows operating system
Key Role & Responsibility :
  • Coordination with Lead Discipline Engineers/Designers, as required
  • Support & liaise with other key groups - such as the engineering functions, departments, IT and digitalization - as required
  • Liaise with Design expert for system improvements & modifications
  • Preparation of Project specific documentation for Applications
  • Manage Project data in SPI & Interface SPI with all other smart suit software (such as SmartPlant P&ID, Smart 3D, SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), SmartPlant Foundation, etc.) and Linde Tools
  • Perform Audit on Application data & Resolve audit comments as a Team Member
  • Manage and maintain application backup with templates & other data
  • Develop, Improve & Share best practices, work processes, systems and tools
  • Automate variety of routine tasks with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Inputs for development & implementation of new procedures, develop guidelines and data workflows for tools - as required
  • Handle Vendor Data with various tools/applications with revision tracking
  • Handover of Project design & reference data to client
  • Support application users & provide training for respective activity
  • Support or Guide users during preparation of documents within application
  • Actively supports Lessons Learned feedback & it’s implementation in future
  • Perform Quality check of application data & take responsibility for overall data
  • Communication with customer, vendors, PMC, etc. as per requirement
